Governor Radda Receives EU  Humanitarian Team, Pledges Commitment to Food Security

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has received a 12-member delegation from the European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations, the Danish Refugee Commission, and Doctors of the World UK to explore partnerships in food security and peace building.

The Governor, during the courtesy visit on Tuesday, stressed his administration's commitment to ensuring lasting peace, food security, and improved livelihood support, especially for rural communities.

Governor Radda disclosed that the state government has distributed food items to less privileged families, including 35,000 mothers whose children were discharged from malnutrition centres.

"We are committed to addressing these critical issues. We have also distributed farm machineries and implements to enhance agricultural productivity across the state," the Governor stated.

The Head of Office, Nigeria, for the European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations, Alexandre Castellano, who led the delegation, informed the Governor of the team's mission to partner with Katsina State in addressing lasting peace, enhancing food security mechanisms, tackling nutrition-related issues, and providing skills for displaced communities.

Castellano commended the state government's commitment to creating an enabling environment for organizations to implement community-driven initiatives and people-developed policies.

The delegation acknowledged the state's efforts in the areas of partnership and humanitarian interventions.

The team confirmed their participation in the upcoming fundraising event for malnutrition and food security scheduled to hold in Abuja on October 9, 2025.

Governor Radda assured the visitors of his administration's continued support for programmes aimed at improving the welfare of vulnerable communities in the state.
