Governor Radda Inspects Special Smart School In Radda
* Assures Lectures Will Commence In October
Katsina State Governor, Mallam Dikko Umaru Radda, today inspected the ongoing construction of the Special Models Smart School in Radda, Charanchi local government area, assuring that the project will be completed on schedule and that lectures will commence in October.
The Special Models Smart School is one of the three special model schools initiated by his administration, designed to provide opportunities for underprivileged, talented, and gifted children in the state.
Speaking during the inspection, Governor Radda explained that his visit was to personally assess the level of work on the model school and ensure that contractors meet all requirements within the stipulated timeframe.
“We came here today to inspect the level of completion of the school, and I can see that all the contractors are busy working to meet the requirements and the deadline given to them. As you are aware, examinations have already been conducted for the new intake of students across the 361 wards into this special school, and I believe, from the assurances we have received, that the project will be completed before the end of this month,” the Governor stated.
Governor Radda further explained that academic activities are expected to commence in the first week of October. He acknowledged that although work had been delayed by about three weeks, measures are already in place to cover the lost time.
According to him, the state government will recover the delay by adjusting the school calendar and introducing morning and evening classes to ensure students receive the full range of lessons without compromising quality standards.
“We will make up for the delay by recovering from the scheduled holidays and introducing double sessions, including morning and evening classes, to cover all the lost days,” he said.
Governor Radda reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to delivering Special models Smart Schools across the state as promised, highlighting their role as modern centres of learning that will prepare Katsina’s youth for greater opportunities in the future.
The governor was conducted round the school by the Commissioner of Basic and Secondary Education, Hajiya Zainab Musa Musawa, alongside some of the contractors handling the project.
The Governor was accompanied on the inspection by his Principal Private Secretary, Abdullahi Aliyu Turaji; Commissioner for Lands and Physical Planning, Dr. Faisal Kaita; Special Adviser on Chieftaincy Affairs, Usman Abba Jaye; Special Adviser on Domestic Matters, Sabo Abba; and other senior government officials.
